We aren’t always breeding our own puppies, but DO always have puppies for sale through local Amish breeders. Puppies for sale that are Amish-bred are typically Aussiedoodles, Labradoodles, and Goldendoodles.
The Amish can be very difficult to reach without email or telephones to ask questions, or know when they are home. They also do not use cameras and computers necessary for promoting them online.
At Homestead Oaks, we provide services for our Amish neighbors, like finding great homes for their Aussiedoodle, Labradoodle, and Goldendoodle puppies. Many of the breeders obtain their vaccinations directly from us while they keep their own dewormers because they do not require refrigeration — another modern convenience that the Amish do not have.
The Amish do know about the care of animals as their livelihood depends the use of healthy, well-bred livestock for their transportation, farm work, and food supply. Their puppies do come with current deworming, current vaccinations, and often well-puppy checks that we provide through our veterinarian that is a several hour buggy ride if the Amish were to make the trip.
Make An Appointment
Questions about puppies can be made through the puppy websites or this one. Because the puppies reside on the Amish farms, it is very important that you request an appointment several hours, or preferably a day in advance, before your puppy visit.
Most of the puppies we offer are already weaned and ready for their new homes. If we are satisfied that the puppies will have a good home and will be well cared for, most can go home with you the same day you visit. There are times puppies are not yet ready, usually by at least eight weeks old, so if you are not sure and we haven’t told you, please ask.
